One must-see hiking destination is Vettakollen where you have an awesome view of Oslo and the Fjord. There are many different ways to get up the peak located between Holmenkollen and Sognsvann in the North of Oslo. Vettakollen is on the same metro line and probably more challenging than its neighbour Holmenkollen, although you do get some of the best views of Oslo as well as Holmenkollen from this area. This Norwegian wilderness should be for experienced mountain bikers, but there are also great medium-level hiking opportunities for others who want to visit. The weather was perfect for a hike – overcast and in the high 50s. Once we made it to the top, we took in the vast views of Oslo: the sea, the city, the ski jump and so many trees.
